Sales and Marketing Executive

Job Description

  • Identify business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analysing sales options.
  • Sell products and services by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
  • Develop and implement annual volume growth and profit objectives by product. Develop and implement new target markets, product lines, marketing programs, and pricing strategies.
  • Develop a standard template for all proposals and participate in their presentation to key prospects.
    Analyze all sales and marketing data for profitability, product mix, supply and demand trends and pricing effectiveness.
  • Provide market price input, and participate in price negotiations with clients and suppliers.
  • Supervise the development and dissemination of marketing materials and supplier promotional materials.
  • Develop strategies for attending trade shows, conferences, and business meetings.
  • Provide weekly reports to management and attend management meetings to review performance and revise strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging business opportunities with a view to positioning. Formulate and implement interventions to deliver sustained performance in terms of securing tenders and new business opportunities.
  • Administer the preparations of quotes.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, vendors etc by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; bench marking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
  • Assist other departments when necessary in areas such as production and attend to other duties.

Qualification and Requirements

  • Minimum of Diploma, HND or Bachelor’s degree in Business (sales and Marketing), Public Administration or related field.
  • At least 1-3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge in MS Office Suite.
  • General IT and Internet knowledge.
  • The ability to drive and possess a valid driver’s license is a plus.
